Tow Truck Operator

The Role:
As a Tow Truck Operator at Harvey’s Towing, you’ll be the frontline of our emergency roadside assistance service. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives under pressure, can work independently, and genuinely cares about safety and service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations & Service Delivery
- Attend all dispatch jobs promptly with no delays
- Deliver high-quality service to customers and partners
- Ensure accurate, real-time communication with base and team
- Build strong relationships with clients and fellow drivers
- Use initiative to resolve issues in the moment
Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform daily vehicle checks and pre-starts
- Maintain clean and tidy trucks/machinery
- Report any mechanical issues immediately
Customer Experience
- Communicate professionally with clients at all times
- Maintain high service standards and respond to complaints as needed
- Represent the Harvey’s brand with pride on and off the job
Workplace Safety & Quality
- Follow all company policies, WHS laws and SOPs
- Attend inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions
- Use PPE, review SDS sheets, and report near misses or incidents
- Participate in continuous improvement and business growth
Admin & Compliance
- Complete daily dockets, logbooks, prestart checklists & timesheets
- Record and submit accurate information for subcontracted jobs
- Report leave, incidents, faults or hazards promptly
ABOUT YOU:
What You Bring:
- MR to HC truck licence (depending on towing duties)
- Prior experience in a towing or related mechanical role
- A sharp eye for detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong time management, reliability, and work ethic
- Positive energy and a calm, can-do attitude under pressure
- Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends
- High personal presentation and communication skills
- Physically fit for labouring and vehicle operation requirements
- Clear understanding of WHS procedures and safe working practices
